Bibliotherapy-Informed Practices, Programs, and Events: “The Librarian’s Guide to Bibliotherapy” informs librarians about how they can leverage bibliotherapy to support mental health and personal growth for their patrons. This guide emphasizes using existing library resources to address a range of patron’s social and psychological needs and supplement existing skills and practices with concepts from bibliotherapy.
Traveler-Statewide Databases: The Traveler project provided statewide access to a collection of subscription digital resources for all Arkansas residents. All public, school, and academic libraries in the state could register their IP addresses with the Arkansas State Library to enable institutional access. This allowed individual libraries the ability to integrate Traveler's resources with their own digital collections. The Traveler resources ensured that every person in the state had the same access to high quality research and learning materials.
Year of the Rabbit Enters Into the Hearts of Winnetka-Northfield Families: Winnetka-Northfield Public Library has a Lunar New Year Celebration that includes bilingual storytime and Chinese recipes that attendees could make. Chinese patrons are invited to celebrate their culture publicly while also promoting awareness to non-Chinese patrons about how Lunar New Year is authentically celebrated.
NJSL Talking Book and Braille Center: The New Jersey State Library - Talking Book and Braille Center maintains the State’s largest collection of Braille and audio books and provides direct library services statewide to their print disabled population. In partnership with the National Library Services, they also now provide access to the NSL’s Braille and Audio Download service, an electronic database with books and magazines in over 30 foreign languages, statewide.
